By creating efficient, high-capacity transport options for passengers, EMBARQ helps reduce commuter times and provides citizens better access to employment, education and essential services – delivering social, environmental and economic benefits in cities.

By 2019, the network aims to influence the adoption of sustainable mobility solutions in over 200 cities; to enable other cities to adapt these successes through technical assistance, capacity building, and national policy guidance; and to influence international policy to leverage investment from governments, multilateral agencies, foundations and corporate investors.

EMBARQ 2018 Targets

  • 8 million tonnes of CO2 saved
  • 1,423 lives saved by reduced road traffic crashes, improved air quality and physical exercise.
  • Save 2.1 billion hours of travel time.
  • $5.5 billion investment leveraged.
