Junaid joined Shell Foundation in June 2021 as Governance, Risk and Assurance Advisor.
His responsibilities include review of the control framework, with deep dives into all the key processes, identifying gaps and potential improvements, ensuring compliance and risk identification and mitigation, and developing full documentation of all finance processes and controls.
Before joining SF, Junaid worked with Cummins, KPMG and the Weir Group where his last role was with their Group Internal Audit, supporting risk and governance, and overseeing operational and financial controls and compliance of over forty reporting locations globally. Prior to this, Junaid led Weir O&G’s financial operations in KSA, and KPMG’s eastern province audit operations, covering industries including O&G, construction, contracting, health, education, chemicals, engineering, and banking. Junaid qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2004, Chartered Certified Accountant in 2005 (FCCA) and holds an MBA from University of Strathclyde.
