Eleanor Fitzgerald joined Shell Foundation in August 2026 as Governance, Risk and Assurance Advisor.
Eleanor is an experienced governance and risk professional with senior executive experience across global banking, asset servicing and asset management. Her career has included roles as Chief Risk Officer for APAC, Head of Regulatory Risk Management and Chief Climate and Sustainability Risk Officer, with extensive experience advising Boards, Executive Committees and liaison with regulators.
She brings expertise in enterprise risk management, governance, regulatory compliance, operational resilience and assurance, combined with significant international experience across multiple jurisdictions. In her role as Governance and Risk Adviser, Eleanor draws on this experience to strengthen governance, proportionate risk management and effective decision-making.
Eleanor holds a Bachelor in Financial Services from University College Dublin and a Certificate in Climate Risk from the Chartered Banker Institute.
