Anne Mwenje joined Shell Foundation in January 2024 as a Business Development Director based in Kenya.
Anne is a Financial Services and Inclusion expert and Corporate Banker and has held leadership roles in Banking and Finance Industry for over 10 years through consultative market assessments, capacity building, risk-based approaches, partnerships and sector strengthening. She works to ensure continuity through transformative Talent Development & Succession Planning, Corporate Governance and Operational Planning within stringent regulatory environments. She also has wide sector and value chain experience in E-mobility, Agriculture, Energy and Infrastructure, Health, WASH, Gender Mainstreaming, Youth, Entrepreneurship and Credit Guarantees and is a Certified Personal Financial Management Coach
Anne has spent most of her career in commercial banking where she helped businesses with their financing needs. She was the Financial Institutions’ Director, USAID’s Kenya Investment Mechanism (Implemented by Palladium); Associate Director Commercial Clients at Standard Chartered; Assistant Vice President, Commercial Clients at Habib Bank AG Zurich as well as other commercial banks. She has established a reputation as a transformational leader who is driven by challenge, undeterred by obstacles, and committed to furthering standards of excellence.
Anne has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing and an MBA in Strategic Management.
