Dara Owoyemi is the Chief Impact Officer at Shell Foundation, focused on enabling 60million people in Africa and South Asia achieve a living income with clean energy.
In recent years, Dara has worked as an independent consultant and senior advisor on international development projects promoting investment in the Global South. She was the Interim Chief Executive Officer of the African Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (AVCA) in the UK and also sat on the board during her tenure as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the firm’s transformation and building its credibility towards becoming the global authority on private investment in Africa. Dara was previously an international development consultant & Special Adviser on Investments to the former Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment in Nigeria.
During her corporate finance career at Lehman Brothers, Ondra Partners and Renaissance Capital, Dara was involved in M&A transactions worth over $2 billion covering international clients in the oil & gas, consumer and financial services sectors. Dara holds an MEng in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London and an Executive MBA at London Business School.
Dara serves on the Board of the Adewunmi Desalu Parkinsons’ Foundation.
