Roundtable on Heat Resilience

In-person breakfast workshop during London Climate Action Week , 9:00 - 11:30

As extreme heat events become more frequent and intense, heat resilience is emerging as a critical global challenge. Rising temperatures are already affecting health outcomes, reducing labour productivity and placing increasing pressure on infrastructure and services particularly in regions where people are most exposed and least able to adapt. Addressing these risks will require coordinated action across sectors, as well as practical, scalable solutions that can protect both lives and livelihoods.

Event

During London Climate Action Week, Shell Foundation is co-hosting a closed-door workshop with KM Dastur to explore these issues in more depth. The session will bring together a small, curated group of around 20–25 participants from across funding, implementation, technology and innovation, corporates, finance and insurance, and research, to share perspectives and insights from across the ecosystem.

The discussion will be held under the Chatham House Rule to encourage an open and candid exchange. It will focus on identifying where there is shared alignment across the landscape, including:

  • Key gaps and opportunities for collaboration; and
  • Emerging solutions or approaches that show promise, and where there is potential to build on existing efforts

The session will draw on lessons from ongoing initiatives and will be anchored by an ecosystem map to help surface key questions and areas for collective focus.
