SafeBoda is using modern technology to provide safer rides to motorbike taxi (boda-boda) passengers, increase profitability and regulation for drivers, and improve the lives of thousands of Ugandans that rely on boda-bodas as their main source of daily transport.

Boda-bodas play a vital role in the Kampala traffic system as they are affordable and can navigate traffic and dirt roads. However, the industry was almost completely unregulated and posed serious health and societal risk to drivers and the general public.

Watch this short video to see how SafeBoda is changing this. Shell Foundation has supported SafeBoda to increase its driver fleet, and develop strategic partnerships with the Global Road Safety Partnership and the Kampala police.
