About

Hamara Grid is an early-stage mini-grid developer based in Nagaland, India, focused on delivering decentralised renewable energy through a rural development lens. It works in hard-to-reach geographies with strong community and government partnerships.

Hamara Grid integrates energy access with productive-use, local job creation, and inclusive village governance.

Project Focus

The project supports the installation of 30 solar mini-grids in northeast India to accelerate inclusive economic growth through economic opportunities, better education facilities, improved healthcare standards, better safety, mobility, and quality of life across remote-rural communities of an extremely under-developed region of India.

The initiative aims to demonstrate a replicable Public–Private–People–Philanthropy model for rural electrification and intends to develop relationships with government agencies and build robust community engagement. The funding also aims to assist this early-stage mini-grid developer to make progressive strides towards deploying mini-grid projects ‘at-scale’ and unlock commercial capital.
