Ellen Briggs-Coquio joined Shell Foundation in September 2026.
Ellen brings over nine years of experience in digital communications, spanning the energy, life sciences and charity sectors. She joins us from Johnson Matthey, a global clean energy technologies company, where she led communications across digital channels and campaigns.
Previously, Ellen worked at the Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation, leading on communications, fundraising campaigns and events, and at the World Energy & Meteorology Council, where she developed communications and brand activities for the EU Horizon 2020 long-term climate forecasting research project, SECLI-Firm.
Ellen has a multi-disciplinary scientific and communications background, with a BSc in Environmental Sciences from the University of East Anglia, an MSc in Science Communication from the University of Sheffield and a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Nutrition from the University of Aberdeen
