
Patrick Obodoekea joined Shell Foundation in May 2025 to support the smallholder farm programme on executing existing partnerships and advancing the pipeline.
Patrick is a programme and impact leader with over a decade of experience in international development, sustainability, business model and digital innovation. He has led high-impact, multi-country initiatives across sub-Saharan Africa focused on farm-level profitability, income resilience, energy transition, and climate-smart agriculture. He has overseen workstreams and programmes funded by Gates Foundation, FCDO, GSMA, and DGIS, delivering measurable outcomes in inclusive finance, carbon reduction, and smallholders’ livelihoods He has also provided technical assistance to AgTech investees of the Dutch Entrepreneurial Development Bank (FMO) and Village Capital.
Prior to joining SF, Patrick worked with the Base of the Pyramid Innovation Center (Bopinc) – a Netherlands-based social enterprise; AgroMall, a leading Nigerian AgTech and agribusiness high-growth; and Ericsson, the Swedish telecom giant, where he held various commercial, product innovation, programme and supply chain roles within the market areas in Africa and the Middle East.
Patrick holds a BSc in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from Obafemi Awolowo University and an MSc in International Business and Finance from the University of Aberdeen. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute and a Commercial and Contract Management Practitioner certified by the World Commerce and Contracting Association. He is based in Lagos, Nigeria.
