Malcolm Brinded

malcolm_brinded_article.jpgMalcolm joined the Board of Trustees of Shell Foundation in May 2004.

Malcolm was an Executive Director of Royal Dutch Shell plc until 1 April 2012. He was with Shell for over 37 years, working in Brunei, the Netherlands, the UK, and Oman, and was a main Shell Board Member for 10 years. From March 2004, he was Executive Director responsible for Global Exploration and Production and from July 2009 Executive Director for Upstream International.

Malcolm graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in Engineering. He is a Fellow of the UK Institutions of Civil and Mechanical Engineering and a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. In 2002, he was appointed CBE for services to the UK oil and gas industry.

He is currently Chair of Engineering UK, President of the Energy Institute and Head Judge of the Royal Academy of Engineering Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation.
